Murder and Mayhem, Mateys!

Help us solve a murder on the high seas, and do it while embracing your inner pirate. All are invited, but sign up if you want to play a character. Who knows, you may even be the killer!

The background

The Bouncing Barnacle, a pirate ship, has just docked in Santa Tortuga. The rambunctious crew meet up at the village tavern, along with the colorful locals. The party is spoiled when Pop DeKegg, the tavern keeper, is found drowned with his head in a vat of rum. He had been holding a treasure map for the pirates—is that why he was murdered? Or was it a local who wanted the treasure for themselves? Or did someone kill Pop by mistake, intending to get his lookalike cousin, the pirate Captain “Lefty” Loosey?

The characters

  • TAKEN: Captain "Lefty" Loosey (M): Untrustworthy. Jolly, but only on the surface. Hook on right hand.
  • TAKEN: Forrest Mait (M): First Mate, Ambitious and ruthless
  • Bo Sunn (M or F): Weapons Officer, gloomy, preaches about evil “Demon Rum”
  • TAKEN: Tara Cards (F): Village Fortuneteller, mysterious, boozer
  • TAKEN: Mum DeKegg (F): Victim’s widow, falsely grieving, former barmaid
  • Betty Bounce (F): Barmaid, awfully friendly with victim; the pirates call her a wench
  • TAKEN: Winky McBlinky (M or F): One-eyed pirate, greedy, tells tall tales
  • Angrus Aber (M): Berserk pirate, fights for no good reason, cheerful when he’s not crazy
  • TAKEN: Laws Tatsy (M or F): Stowaway, confused, got on the wrong ship
  • Yorick Leaver (M or F): Ship’s Cook, eager to try new recipes, but they always go wrong.
  • Canon Bawle (M): Pirate Gunner, shoots off at the mouth. Likes to blow things up.
  • Clem Zee (F): Cabin “Boy.” Often tosses things in the air, sometimes catches them.
  • TAKEN: Ryan Ville (M): Village blacksmith, repairs pirates’ weapons, wannabe pirate
  • Raisa Glass (F): Barmaid with a secret past, flirty
  • G. Reesey Palms (M or F): Customs Officer, takes bribes from pirates
  • Pullamine Pint (M or F): Tavern barkeep, overworked and underpaid, loves gossip
  • Ali Soran (M): Second mate, comes in second on everything, and is bitter about it.
  • Eliza Ducks (F): Pirate hostage, will do anything for attention
  • TAKEN: Gregor Greenbeard (M): Odd-looking pirate, strikes out at anyone who laughs at his beard
  • TAKEN: Juana Zeecru (F): Female pirate, hot-tempered, picks fights and always wins.
